Terms & Conditions

These terms describe what you can expect from Marlow and what we expect from you. They are intentionally short and written in plain language.

Last updated August 16, 2026

The agreement

By creating a Marlow account, or by using Marlow through an invitation or shared link, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to do so.

Where Marlow is today. Marlow is in public beta and is operated by its founder on managed cloud infrastructure. Features may change, and we describe what exists rather than promising what does not.

Your account

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
  • You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.
  • We may suspend accounts that create security, legal, or abuse risks for other users.

Your content

You own the maps, nodes, notes, attachments, and other content you put into Marlow. You grant us only the permissions we need to host, back up, process, and display that content so the product works for you and the people you share it with.

  • You are responsible for having the right to store and share the content you upload.
  • Sharing a map with a teammate, or granting map-level access to someone outside the workspace that holds it, makes that content visible to them at the permission level you choose.
  • Guest share links make the scope you selected — a single step, the map, or the Knowledge View — readable by anyone holding the link, without an account. You are responsible for who you send a link to, and for switching it off or regenerating it when it should no longer work.
  • Comments left through a comment-enabled guest link are attributed to a self-declared display name, so treat guest attribution as unverified.
  • We do not sell or share your content for advertising, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

Acceptable use

Please do not use Marlow to:

  • Break the law, infringe someone else's rights, or store material you have no right to hold.
  • Upload malware, attempt to access other customers' data, or probe our systems without permission (see our security page for responsible reporting).
  • Resell, scrape, or overload the service in ways that degrade it for others.
  • Harass, threaten, or impersonate other people.

Plans & billing

FreeIncludes up to 5 maps. No payment details required.
Pro$15 per month, billed through Stripe. Unlocks unlimited maps and Pro features.
PaymentsCard details are handled by Stripe. Marlow never sees or stores your full card number.
RenewalPro renews automatically each billing period until you cancel. Taxes may apply.
DowngradesIf you move back to Free with more than 5 maps, 5 of your maps stay editable and the rest become read-only after a short grace window. You choose which 5 from Account → Plan; if you don't choose, we default to your most recently active maps. A choice stays locked in for 10 days before you can swap it. Nothing is ever deleted.

Fees are charged in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law. If a payment fails, we may pause Pro features until it is resolved.

Cancellation & deletion

  • You can cancel Pro at any time from your account; access continues until the end of the paid period.
  • You can delete your account from the Account page. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • If you are the sole administrator of a shared workspace, you will be asked to transfer administration before deletion completes.

Availability & changes

We work to keep Marlow available and reliable, but we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee. We may add, change, or remove features as the product evolves, and we will avoid removing something you rely on without notice where we reasonably can.

Disclaimers & liability

Marlow is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. Marlow is a tool for documenting how your organization works; it is not legal, compliance, financial, or safety advice, and you remain responsible for decisions you make using it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Marlow is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost data beyond our backup obligations.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Marlow changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes will be communicated in the product or by email. Continuing to use Marlow after an update means you accept the revised terms.
